Just In!
We want our carnival to bring a splash of colour to the village and to get everyone of all ages involved…
… and one way we can do this is to have a carnival art competition which everyone can take part in!
We’re going to run two art competitions for all ages to brighten up Landrake on the day of the Carnival…
Children’s Art Competition
The theme of the competition is “Summer“, and it’s free to enter with three school age categories:
Key Stage 1; KS2, and KS3 pupils (secondary school).
We’re looking for any type of art – drawings, paintings, collages… whatever you’d like! All the entries will be scanned and posted on the website, and displayed in the village hall on Carnival day for everyone to enjoy. There’ll be a unique trophy and prize for the best entry in each category… more details about how to enter will be on the website and with teachers shortly!
Note – we haven’t included a 16+ age group because the exams are still on for some students… Sorry…
“Grown-ups” Art and Photography Competition
With the same theme as the children’s competition, “Summer”, we’re inviting entries from the grown-ups too! Photos, paintings, textiles – anything you’d like on the theme. Again we’ll scan all the entries and put them on the website, as well as displaying them in the hall on Carnival day. However, there’ll be a gold, silver and bronze prize for the best entries, with some great “over-18s-only” prizes! (Ok… some booze.)
For the adult competition there’ll be an entry fee with your entry of £2 which will be used towards the prizes… More information on how to enter will be on the site shortly.
